Dear Iva & kids - San Francisco July 19, 19

well I arived all right. & saw no one I knew. but I was with a lovely little woman that lived here. & got along fine. I took a taxi & went to a hotel. got a room for a dollar. & stayed in there all day tired out. there was hot water in the room. so I made me some tea & I had some of my lungh left. the next morning I was just going out at eleven to hunt up Grace Hamilton. your uncle Orases girl. I found her name in the P book. & just as I went to go out of my room he came up. & there he went with me out to golden gate park. & we went & seen the seal rocks & came back at 4. & stoped on the way to see if that was graces. & he went up the steps rang the bell. & she was up on the stair steps. & he asked her if she Grace Jennings before she married. & she said yes. & I stayed & we have taked our selves nearly to death. we didnt go to bed until 1.30. she and I slept together. she has 2 children. her son is married is 24. her girl is 26. just as sweet as she can be. she said this morning she knew she would look like me when she got old. we asked her why. & she put her face by mine & said no Mamma dont we look alike. & grace said yes you do. you have eyes & fore head alike. & Effie's son is here attending school. & he said he thought I looked like his Mamma.Effie is Orases oldest girl. Will his son lives in Arizona. & your Aunt Mary has a home at Santa Cruz. about 85 miles south of here. lives alone. Grace & her husband separated & she has a divorce. & she has the nicest place here I ever sa. 8 tooms 2 toilets lots of closets. & every thing so nice. she has 4 rooms rented $15.00 a piece. Cecil the girl is to be married as soon as he gets back from Panama.is in the Navy. she has every thing made & ready. she is a fine dressmaker. gets $4.00 a day. her son Leon gets $200.00 a month. an expert accountent. (I know that is not spelt right but I will let it go). I am going down to your Aunt Marys tomorrow I guess. that man was no more like he use to be than day ' night is alike. I wouldnt have minded the looks but there was more than looks. will tell more some other time. I made him give me money to go back $40.00. but I think I will go to coras. I dont like it there. & I cough all the time. but I do every place I go any how. but I havent here yet. If I had the money I would go on to Pasadena & stay there this winter. but I wont go there & spongeof off them. so I guess I will to the Coras & milk. I will not tell every thing now. but you can show this to Mrs. Wimpy. but no one else. tell every body about me being here with my folks. what a fine time I am having. but that land is nix. will tell more next time Grace & me talk a while. then I will write. she has gone to bed now to let me finish. she says to give her and Cecils love to you. love to all.
